Content Migration: Pages and Layouts (Beta)

This new feature allows you to selectively migrate pages and layouts within your StagingPro application.

Prerequisite

Before you do a migration, you must create a custom script on the source store for this feature to work. The script, in conjunction with clicking the ‘Load Storefront’ button, allows the system to evaluate the page element positions before the migration starts.

This step applies to page migrations for both i) bulk migration and ii) selective migration

First create the custom script

1. Go to the BigCommerce Admin Panel and click ‘Channel Manager’

2. Click on ‘Scripts’ for the corresponding storefront

3. Click ‘Create Script’

4. Create the script item with the following details:

Name of the script: Pages with Placements and Widget Migration
Location: Footer
Select Pages where script will be added: All Pages
Script Category: Essential
Script Type: Script
For the body of the script, simply transfer the contents of the attached script (Script.txt) and click ‘Save’.
- Note: you must substitute the hash id that matches your store hash ID

Then perform the migration

1. Select Source store

2. Select your Destination store

3. Click ‘Load Storefront’ button for the app to check and enumerate the Storefront.
NOTE: If this critical step is missed by forgetting to click the button, the migration wont work as expected!

4. Wait till the blue popup is closed, then return back to the StagingPro app.

5. After selecting the item(s), click on the ‘Copy Pages’ app

6. If the popup notification doesnt show, please use this script instead. When you click ‘Load Storefront’ with the 2nd script installed, the popup will not display, however the script enumeration will happen. The ‘Load Storefront’ button must be clicked before initiating the StagingPro migration. If you face any issues, do notify the Migration ID when you log a ticket with the StagingPro Support helpdesk
