While creating a new environment, StagingPro will copy all data between source and destination, it is possible to select a number of products only. Because there are a number of interdependencies between products and other data, different use cases require different behaviour.

While there is more to it, you will be safe in thinking about the following rules:

The product title exists in the destination for a simple product

If the product is a simple product then the destination will be updated (revised) from the source environment.

The product title exists in the destination for a variation product

The product and all variations are deleted and the product in the source is created as a new product in the destination.

The product title does not exist in the destination

StagingPro will create a new product in the destination environment.

If a product sku exists in the destination and the product title matches

The destination product will be updated (revised) to match the source.

The below representation explains what happens when revising products.
