Although StagingPro will not migrate categories a second time, you are able to create new categories and subcategories and these will be successfully migrated. Creating a new subcategory within an existing hierarchy will however fail through the Content Migration Screen.
There is a solution to this and this is in the form of the “Product Catalog Screen”. Any categories and brands which are created in the staging environment as part of a product will be migrated by using the Product Catalog Screen. Simply select only the products that you want to move and press migrate.
The following Fields are migrated along with the categories.
